It initially consisted of 9 school idols and the player character from Nijigasaki High School, three of which are the top three most popular girls with the N rarity in SIF, and the other six being new characters created for the project. About The Project[]
Before "PERFECT Dream Project" was first teased, a popularity poll was started in SIF which asked the players to vote for their favorite N rarity character. Emma Verde won first place, Shizuku Osaka landed second place, and Kanata Konoe came in third place[1]. When the project was first announced, the preview image showed the silhouettes of the three winners. After revealing the three girls, six more silhouettes were added for the new characters.
From its inception until mid-December 2018, content was regularly pushed out under the Dengeki Online site, Famitsu App site and SIF app, with the nine girls split into three teams across the three platforms.
- Dengeki Online: Karin Asaka, Kasumi Nakasu, and Setsuna Yuki
- Famitsu App: Ai Miyashita, Ayumu Uehara, and Rina Tennoji
- SIF app: Kanata Konoe, Shizuku Osaka, and Emma Verde
While the three platforms each feature ongoing 4-komas with their respective characters, they also utilize the characters to promote their own content: eg. Dengeki Online used their characters to perform a review of a new upcoming game in-character.
On September 21, 2017, a new game called Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS was announced. This new game will include characters from Nijigasaki High School Idol Club as well as their predecessors from μ's and Aqours.
Since December 18, 2018, the three company groups have ceased activities and the 9 characters were reunited in a new, combined weekly 4-koma featuring all of them.[2] Then, from February 1 until March 1, unit elections for the Nijigasaki High School School Idol Club were held to determine the top 9 possible unit configurations to be chosen in a subsequent poll.[3]
On March 30, 2019, the results of the first stage of unit elections were released in Dengeki G's Magazine.[4] The next day, the second stage of unit elections started, in order to choose one possible configuration among the available 9 choices. This election lasted until April 15.
On August 3, 2020, Shioriko Mifune officially joined Nijigasaki High School Idol Club as the 10th school idol and overall 11th member of the idol club.[5]
On August 31, 2021, Mia Taylor and Lanzhu Zhong officially joined Nijigasaki High School idol Club as the 11th and 12th school idols and overall 12th and 13th members of the idol club respectively.[6]
