History by Year[]

Note: Dengeki G's Magazine is a monthly magazine that is part of the Love Live! and Love Live! Sunshine!! multimedia projects. As it is usually the first source of news for all major projects under these titles, its monthly sections will detail how the project has progressed over time. The issues are usually published a month ahead of time. For example, the July 2010 issue would've been released on 30th May 2010.
2015 (January - June)
April issue
  • Teaser image for Love Live! Sunshine!! was published.




May issue

  • Second teaser image for Love Live! Sunshine!! was published.




June issue

  • Love Live! Sunshine!! officially began with the release of character introductions and voice actress line-up.
  • Submissions for a group name started, from April 30 to May 11.




July issue

  • Sunshine!! feature on Chika Takami, Riko Sakurauchi and Kanan Matsuura.
  • Voting for group names started, from June 1 to June 11. Choices are:

  • First Sunshine!! character poll begins, asking for both readers' first impressions as well as requests for what sort of school idol they want their chosen character to become. The poll took place from June 30 to July 29, and required a serial code from the magazine to participate.




2015 (July - December)
September issue
  • Sunshine!! feature on Hanamaru Kunikida, Mari Ohara and Ruby Kurosawa.
  • Aqours first single title is announced to be Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru kai?, on sale October 7.
  • Second Sunshine!! character poll begins, asking for readers' advice on what sort of activities would make them shine best. The poll takes place from July 30 to August 28, and requires a serial code from the magazine to participate.




October issue

  • Sunshine!! feature on the costumes for their first single. SPECIAL SESSION illustration featuring Chika, Riko and You.
  • Aqours's Holiday segment, featuring Kanan.
  • OUR PRIVATE LIFE segment (a short diary tying two characters together), featuring Dia and Ruby.
  • Oh My Favorite!! Aqours Trending News segment (regarding the latest trends), featuring Yoshiko.
  • ROAD TO IDOL segment (regarding Aqours's production), featuring Mari.

October 31: Aqours began a nationwide shop campaign of Meet & Greet events to commemorate their first single.

January issue

  • The results of the trio unit activities poll were announced, with 32133 votes cast in total.
    • The results were as follows: Pattern 4, Pattern 6, Pattern 2, Pattern 3, Pattern 1, Pattern 5.
  • Comments from all characters regarding their new trio units were published.
  • Entries for trio unit names were opened on the Dengeki G's website, and will be held from November 30 to December 18.
    • Voting for short-listed names will take place in the March issue, and announced in the May issue.
  • Aqours's Gallery 1, featuring Chika, Riko and Kanan.

2016 (January - June)
January 11: Aqours held their first full-member live event in Tokyo to commemorate the release of their first single, with both a talk section and live performance.

January 11: Aqours held their first group live-stream after the event. The anime and second single are announced.
January 22: Aqours began a fortnightly live-stream with trio members, titled "It's A Trio! One, Two, Sunshine!!".

March issue

    • 16888 votes were cast for Subunit A. CYaRon! won with 3442 votes, CoCoA came in second with 2394 votes, and FiLLY came in third with 1870 votes.
    • 16646 votes were cast for Subunit B. AZALEA won with 3460 votes, Pione came in second with 3317 votes, and KANARIA came in third with 1870 votes.
    • 16657 votes were cast for Subunit C. Guilty Kiss won with 3659 votes, RYM came in second with 2280 votes, and Chrom Cross came in third with 2160 votes.

October 1 & 2: To commemorate the release of BD 1, a special commemorative booth was held in front of TULLY's COFFEE at Akihabara's UDX building. Anju Inami and Rikako Aida made a special surprise stage appearance on October 1.[1][2]

October 3: 3 members of Aqours (Aika Kobayashi, Shuka Saito and Arisa Komiya) made an appearance at China International Comics Festival Expo 2016 in Guangzhou on October 3, 2016. Official event report here.
